Hi all,

We've recently replaced all our old PC's around the site and have encountered an issue in regards to the projector (NEC M271X)

When a user wants to log off but keep up work on the board for students (freeze option), it doesn't allow for this and takes the image off (It'll just revert back to the network login screen)

The freeze option works perfect for everything else.

With our previous machines this wasn't a problem. Teachers could leave work up on the board for the next teachers lesson, even when logging out or switching user.

The PC's we have switched to are the LENOVO M720t

I have tried looking through the projector settings - I couldn't see anything for freeze options.

I have also tried updating the graphics driver on the PC to see if this was the issue, still nothing.

Any suggestions/help would be hugely appreciated.

Thank you,

Cameron.

I think the reason this happens is because when the user signs out, the computer will briefly output no signal. When the projector receives no signal, the frozen screen will go off and the projector will say no signal. When the lock screen comes back on, it will just show the current output. I remember this happening to the NEC projectors at the last school.

I'm not sure why it would/wouldn't happen with different computers. Maybe they were on different versions of windows or they took less time to enter the lock screen?

Hi mate, Thank you for your response. This would make sense as to why it would not freeze the board. We have other another brand projector (HITACHI) But this method of freezing then logging off/switch user works fine. Would be very ideal if our LENOVO M720t

did the same!

Have you switched from VGA to HDMI/DP?

Hi mate,

No, we are all VGA Connections throughout.

  • Thanks 1
