Onedrive Home Folder

Hi All,

 

Quick question for those of you that have successfully transitioned to using OneDrive for your user documents.

 

I've got it set up and connected and documents migrated successfully. The users can access OneDrive successfully and all the special folders point to the right place.

 

The only thing I'm not sure about is if I still need to connect the 'Home folder' in the User Properties in AD. Is this literally just a drive mount, or does it have any other significance? Will not filling it in break anything or mean things get dumped on the C: drive?

That would depend if you have any Group Policies or other custom settings rolled out to the machines to point them to save things to another location. For example when I changed ours I had to amend the download directory for Google Chrome and Edge to point to the OneDrive downloads folder. Also had to change the autosave location for Office since that was set to the share. Other than that should be fine to remove the home folder mapping.
