Question for those of you who work in schools that actively use Facebook Pages to promote their school. How do you manage access when you need to use a personal account to create / manage a page?

Plan was to create a generic account and then create a page, this worked to a point, but is unable to run ads until verified, but obviously that's not possible and is also risks being banned as a fake account.

Tried creating an account using a school email in the name of the HT. Facebook banned the account within an afternoon for violating T&Cs as a duplicate fake account.

After more research, it seems the only official supported way to do it is to use a genuine personal account, create the page and then add at least one other genuine personal account as admin too.

This isn't ideal, but I see no way round it?

So suggestions please.

I originally created an account using a fake name etc but I lost access, none of the DOB's I might have used worked and they wanted ID documents...

Now I've got the schools facebook page under my personal account and our marketing manager handles the updates/general management of the page via her personal account. As far as I can see there's no way for anyone to see that the account is in any way linked to me, I'm not friends with any of the other admins.

I know this doesn't help but I managed to create a fake account without any problems, so can't see why you guys cant?

I created a school email specifically for this account and gave the account a plausible name and DOB. From this account I created our school's page and both myself and SLT have access to it and regularly update it.

Created a school email account named facebookuser@ourschooldomain and then created a new FB user attached to the email account. The name used was my own but there is nothing attched to the account other than the school page that is managed. Whether FB have clamped down on this i'm not sure because all this was created a few years ago.

I think as long as you have an email account that is under the school's control and someone can always get into it. Creating a blank staff member account that has no personal usage could be the way to go.

This is fine if you just want to use it for very basic stuff, but rules you out for using any advanced features like advertising, post boosting etc as you need to be able to verify your ID.
