jblackburnHWGA Posted March 5, 2021 Posted March 5, 2021 Can a global admin change the meetings options to allow a different presenter for a calendared meetings? So for example Mrs.Smith sets a calendared meeting for her English class Tuesday P1. Mrs.Smith is absent P1 Tuesday, stuck in traffic. Mr. Young covers her lesson but goes into the meeting as an attendee. Our defaults are set to only me as the presenter for those that make the calendar entry. Can someone get into the calendar options of Mrs. Smiths meetings and add in Mr. Young as a presenter other than Mrs. Smith? If it was an emergency we could reset mrs.Smiths password and go in as her. Is there a back end bit of code to do it?
saintoctopus Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 I have looked into this in the past and have not been able to find a solution. I'd love to know if anyone can prove me wrong though...
jblackburnHWGA Posted March 9, 2021 Author Posted March 9, 2021 I don't think its possible at the moment. My two main team gripes are the meeting options which may well elevate when its not being used to teach remotely and the fact that when a teacher leaves and you delete them they're calendar entries stick around in everyones calendar
TechMonkey Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 What I've done before is give myself manage rights to their Mailbox and then gone into OWA and edit the meetings. A pain but doable. Scripting I feel should be possible but it would be tricky as I'm not sure how you would identify individual meetings.
jblackburnHWGA Posted March 9, 2021 Author Posted March 9, 2021 Yes they could do with a delete all calendar entries option
jblackburnHWGA Posted March 9, 2021 Author Posted March 9, 2021 Oh wait there is a delete all. Add yourself in as management on O365 so their account shows in Outlook. GO to their calendar in outlook. Change the calendar view to list, select all and delete
chazzy2501 Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 Just wondering, if the meeting was set with a channel invite, wouldn't a teacher added to the Team (and thus) the channel be able to take control of the meeting?
TriggerHappyUK Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 Just wondering, if the meeting was set with a channel invite, wouldn't a teacher added to the Team (and thus) the channel be able to take control of the meeting? Not if the Lobby setting is set to allow 'Only Me'. We tell the cover teacher that they have to create another meeting for that class/channel. This assumes that the cover teacher has been added to the Team (which we can do if the teacher hasn't)
