LeMarchand Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 Anyone with Smoothwall able to check https://www.themoviedb.org/ ? I keep getting this, but checking the address says it's allowed for all users. Was wondering it it was being blocked higher up the chain.
Tammie Posted February 25, 2021 Posted February 25, 2021 That is blocked for me, in the Adult Sites, Movies and Film category. 1
LeMarchand Posted February 25, 2021 Author Posted February 25, 2021 Thanks. Really odd. It says it's on the "default allow" list here, and when I check what's been blocked for me it's not there. Guessing it is blocked higher up the chain. I'll have to let the owner know as (whilst adult films are listed if you make that choice) it's basically a less corporate version of IMDb (which, IIRC, shows adult movies by default).
Tammie Posted February 26, 2021 Posted February 26, 2021 That's frustrating. As soon as I put it in my Staff Allowed URLs list it gets through. Weird! 1

Ratcliffepg Posted February 26, 2021 Posted February 26, 2021 The simplest things are never easy with Smoothwall......
ibpalle Posted February 26, 2021 Posted February 26, 2021 Use the policy tester in Guardian - quick links to test and see what policy blocks it. Or have a look at the realtime logs and filter for the URL - the policy that blocks it should also show. 1
LeMarchand Posted February 26, 2021 Author Posted February 26, 2021 Tried the first - says it's on default allow. Will try t'other on Monday, but I looked to see if I had been to any blocked sites and there weren't any. Thanks for the ideas.
ibpalle Posted March 1, 2021 Posted March 1, 2021 The default allow means that there are no policies that apply to it - were there any HTTPS inspection policies listed when you try the policy test tool?
LeMarchand Posted March 1, 2021 Author Posted March 1, 2021 Our Smoothwall comes via the LEA, so I'm not sure it's "vanilla". If I run the tester on the URL I get: Ran an audit trail on myself and TMDb is showing as an Adult Site, as @Tammie said. Any way to get this corrected, @ibpalle?
ibpalle Posted March 1, 2021 Posted March 1, 2021 Most likely blocked due to the adult sites, which is a global policy and thus cannot be overridden by the policies local to your location. Either adult sites have to be unblocked globally and then implemented locally for each location(tenant) or the domain has to be allowed in a global custom allow. 1
LeMarchand Posted March 1, 2021 Author Posted March 1, 2021 So this is set at LEA level rather than Smoothwall?
ibpalle Posted March 1, 2021 Posted March 1, 2021 Not being quite aware of how the filtering is setup in your situation but the name of the category group that Adult content is part of is called Global Forced blocked categories so yes, I would assume so. 1
