Hi

Has anyone got a YouTube channel for school that they wouldn't mind sharing the link for? I think it would be really useful in our current climate but SLT are wary...

Hopefully if I show them some they won't be as worried!

Our instructions to staff:

Video files uploaded should be prefixed with the Subject area and teacher’s initials in the ‘Title’.

Category should be changed to “Education” and Audience changed to “Yes, it’s Made for Kids” – this disables ‘Comments’.

When publishing the video ensure its set to “Unlisted” so it will not appear for public view on YouTube but can still be shared on Firefly.

So, silly question! How do your students see them? Do you have to subscribe? Do you have control over who subcribes and can remove people?

Do you have a Google for Education account? When I try and create a branded account I just get an invalid request error...

Thanks

Yes and the staff embed the direct links to the videos in our VLE.

Same as above, our channel has videos but the majority are hidden and a link is sent to the relevant Parents.

There were some videos from the 1st lockdown that we wanted all parents to be able to access but now it's mostly on a Year / Class basis so hidden video with link is best.

We just have the videos as unlisted and disabled comments.

Didn't stop a pupil screen recording one though and making his own version for instagram..
