Uber22 Posted January 26, 2021 Posted January 26, 2021 Hey i had a raid fail and after it had repaired and rebuild i thought my dc would be ok but looks like there is an issue starting it up, I am getting failed to change state. I also get an error when inspecting the disk as well. I have attached few pics
HPlum78 Posted January 26, 2021 Posted January 26, 2021 Is this your only DC? If not can you just rebuild it? I don't like this approach but VMs should be cattle not cats.

Uber22 Posted January 26, 2021 Author Posted January 26, 2021 we only had 1 dc, and i cant restore the back either to pull of the AD stuff to restore.
TwistedHelixis Posted January 26, 2021 Posted January 26, 2021 When I had a similar issue I wiped the server, started over and restored the VMs from backup. If this is not an option do you still have the virtual hard disk drives on the host hdd? If so you might be able to import those as a new virtual machine which will build a new settings profile for you. BTW I am no VM expert so you might want to Google things first.
3s-gtech Posted January 26, 2021 Posted January 26, 2021 Can you attached the VHDX to another VM then start it up? The old VM will be pointing at the checkpoint which is broken. You may lose data but maybe not judging by the date of the snapshot.
