Well, it would have been nice to have had a simple tool for administering Classroom but unfortunately when I run the project, I just get "Script function not found: doGet" and I've given up as I don't have the time to try and troubleshoot why.

I had that problem too but JR gave me some pointers and I got it sorted. But, I see the project has gone from github now

Not sure, It's a really useful tool, I've used a few times a day so far

What was it you had to do to get it to work?

I've still got the code set up in a project but I just couldn't get past that error, and when it said to add the Google Classroom API as a library, I couldn't find its ID but added it in using the Service selector below the Library one but I don't know if that was the right way to do it or not.

I'll try this from memory, it was only on Monday but still, a lot has happened since then!

When you first load the project, I cleared all the preloaded code in the document and then pasted in code from the project

Add the line with the url of your project

Then, under Services I added Classroom, not via Libraries as I had the same issue with not knowing the ID.

It's worked for me since.

I've updated my install, all good. Thanks @jr_

Good to hear. Really they should have included this in the google admin panel but we will always find a way :)

Updated new version.

MrEprise why do you have to be so toxic?

Oo, my new username shows up on old posts, but not on quoted replies.

Sorry. I wasn't trying to be but I have so much going on at the moment and I'm getting rather stressed out as a result.

Hi, when I try to run it I get an authorization is required to perform that action.

Hi Primus.

You will need to run it on an account that has admin access to your google services. and accept the permissions.

It's on an admin account with the right access - where do I accept the permissions?

Thanks!

Ahhh

In script editor, run the script, then permissions pop up

I get this too, what was the solution?

I wasn't sure. I deleted the project and then followed @Danp 's instructions above and then it suddenly worked.

I think it has something to do with getting the right URL you paste into the code, as I noticed this often changes depending on what you do in the Project.

EDIT: ...or permissions it seems. I don't remember it asking me that either the first time.

To update do we just need to copy and paste, overwrite the existing code and then paste our link back into the correct place?

Yes, that's what I did. Make sure you add your url. I also had to agree to new permissions. It then ran fine

I just revisited this thread after trying it out on my personal gsuite tenancy several months ago as a test. Shame it's no longer on github, it seemed to work quite nicely, was wanting to take another look.
