Evening all

I know the above is an old system - but does anyone happen to know the MAX size disk you can add to these units?

For example, I have a unit that has 12 x 300GB SAS disks.

The unit can take SAS or SATA - But what I cant find is can I swap the disks out for say 3TB SAS drives, or even 3TB SATA drives, or bigger?

TIA for any info.

According to the spec sheet here: https://h20195.www2.hpe.com/v2/getpdf.aspx/c04168365.pdf

They can take >3tb drives with a firmware upgrade. The biggest drive that HPe list on that spec sheet is 6tb, part code J9F36A

It’s pretty likely that these devices will only accept drives with HPE firmware, so don’t go buying a larger generic NL-SAS or SATA drive at Ebuyer or whoever and expect it to work.

Thanks for the update - Looks like HP charge for the F.W update so that won't happen. Guess I will need to try and get my hands on some older disks and see which ones the system will pickup.
