Jobos Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 We still have a a few of the very old 2nd gen ActivBoards in school but both of the newer 3rd gen ABV378PRO have been having problems since the November windows updates. The older 2nd gen ActivBoards are still working fine but the 3rd gen boards have stopped working with the pen and the only way to fix it is to power cycle the PC and board as simply restarting the PC has no affect. After a power cycle the board works fine until the next day when another power cycle is needed. Win10 1909, drivers 5.18.19, connected by USB and ActivBoard firmware 8.04. Any advice?
cullingsh Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Did you have any problems getting the older 2nd gen boards to work on Win 10 1909? We have BSODs and there is a problem with those and Win10 1909 onwards. There's a related problem with the 300 boards too which require a firmware upgrade (v8.10 seems to be latest) available here: https://support.prometheanworld.com/article/1038
adamkirkz Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Hi, You'll be best to update to 8.10 firmware which should help with this issue. Though for the BSOD issues, you would need to update to 8.10 first, then 8.12b4 afterwards, see this article - https://support.prometheanworld.com/article/1779/

adamkirkz Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Hi Jobos, Do you find that your pen no longer works once you open a web browser? Or is it simply not working at all from turning on the PC? Its been noted a few times recently that those with 8.04 firmware and as soon as you launch a web browser such as Chrome, it stops working completely. We've seen that having 8.10 firmware helps resolve this. Thanks

Jobos Posted December 3, 2020 Author Posted December 3, 2020 @cullingsh Are you referring to this problem which Promethean say to use a third party driver with 2nd boards https://community.prometheanworld.com/forums/topic/update-activboard-100-300-ab500-firmware-now-released/
