recycling equipment?

Sorry if this has been asked before.

we have just replaced a few iwb and projectors with touch panels. I've now got several old Activboards and a mixture of projectors, Epson EB570 short throw and some other Epson standard ceiling mounted. Is there a market for them or do I just send them off to the recyclers? seems a shame.

I'd just get them recycled to be honest. It's usually more effort than it's worth if trying to sell old equipment as a school, especially if it's pretty old and used.

I have seen some people passing on old stuff through this site - anyone know how to do it - or what the rules are??

 

at the least - someone could use them as backups/spares

 

or contact people who sell refurbished ones - I bought some refurbished (i.e. cleaned up a bit) IWBs a few years ago and the people were desperate to get hold of used ones (sorry - not got the web site anymore!)

We're in a similar position and I was wondering whether to post here or even just ask our LA if they know of any schools that could use them.

 

EDIT: I've just had a look around the forum and @OllieC was after boards earlier this year, so there may be others.

You can probably donate them - there are many orgnisations that could use them.

 

When our BSF build happened most of our whiteboards and projectors/speakers went to various ATC units - my techie then was involved with them and they eneded up all over the North West - even came and took them off the walls/ceilings for us when we were stripping the building.

 

Advantage of an organisation like that taking them is they are people who have a technical bent and know about checking/testing and happy to fit/commission them so they are just grateful for working kit.
