bodminman Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 Hi there, We signed up for a 3yr MS agreement with BT Business Direct and have completed years 1 and 2 without issue. The problem now is that we can't renew for the 3rd year because I cannot get in contact with anyone at BTBD. Over the pass 10 days I have sent emails, left messages on voicemail, contacted the billing team tried getting a response via social media but haven't heard anything. Does anyone know if I can renew the 3rd year with another company? Thanks
Jcx500 Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 Maybe stone Computers , we haven’t been able to get through to bt buisness direct as well although it was a different issue 1

Koldov Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 I think it is possible... http://www.edugeek.net/forums/licensing-questions/202243-changing-microsoft-license-reseller.html In the end we didn't change, so YMMV. Not sure about honouring contract/price though, but they may be able to match it?

Koldov Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 Just watch out for an (automated?) invoice for the 3rd year from BT... Not sure they would do that without contacting you with a renewal quote to confirm, but it is BT!
ultima170387 Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 Just been in touch with our account manager at BTBD today and quite a bit over the last few weeks without issue.
Primus Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 You CAN move in Y2 or Y3 with an MS agreement but my experience has been that no one can touch the pricing the original reseller gave you so even though the discount is logged in I've consistently seen it be slightly more expensive to renew with an alternative provider. 1
bodminman Posted October 7, 2020 Author Posted October 7, 2020 Just been in touch with our account manager at BTBD today and quite a bit over the last few weeks without issue. We don't have an account manager as such as I don't think we spend enough with them. I have to contact the licensing team but no answer. I have emailed my contacts, generic sales, accounts and billing etc etc but zero reply.

Yep, already flagged this up with our Bursary as BT did a similar thing years ago with our leased line.

That's a good and valid point but I'm over a barrel here as I cannot contact anyone about this at BTBD.
johnlevis Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 The agreement you have is with Microsoft, not the reseller. As a reseller we often have people with existing agreements coming to us for year 2 or 3 renewals. Happy to give you a quote for comparison if you want to get in touch. Bernice Posted October 9, 2020 Posted October 9, 2020 @bodminman Hi I am the Education Manager within BT Business Direct. Firstly apologies that you have been struggling to contact us. All of my team are working from home right now due to Covid and our contact channels have been re-routed to enable customers to still reach us. What you’ve mentioned is unusual and something I am unaware of as we have a dedicated team to support Education as well as exciting propositions for our customers and their Edu needs. Please be assured we are fully open and here to support you as we have always been. If you would like to contact me directly, I will take ownership to deal with your enquiry. In order for me to check why you’ve found this a difficult experience, when we speak if you would be happy to share the contact points you’ve been using this will enable me to see what’s gone wrong so we can make it right. Looking forward to speaking to you. Bernice Iyanda | BT Business Direct | Education - Sales Manager | TEL:+44 (0)7795 986840 E: [email protected] |

bodminman Posted October 13, 2020 Author Posted October 13, 2020 Thnak you all for the responses. I got straight in touch with XMA who got me a quote within 90 minutes which we have agreed to and signed off on. As a bonus we also saved nearly £500. Thanks for your help!
eddyc Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 Hi Bernice, May I contact you regarding an RMA which I’ve been chasing for nearly a month? Since COVID, any issues needing an RMA or credit note have dragged on, the last credit note for three months before it finally materialised. I’m being asked to find alternative suppliers because of these issues. Thanks eddyc @bodminman Hi I am the Education Manager within BT Business Direct.
