Bompalompalomp Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Our toner supplier who previously provided toner recycling has had to cease its free service due to the raised costs of shipping and handling in the pandemic. I've contacted a number of companies and a lot of them have also ceased this service, or at least will only do original toners or from their own suppliers. The best I've found charges £16-25 per collection whereas previously this was at no cost. Does anyone know of any companies that will still provide free toner collections (including compatible toners) nationwide or in the Midlands since this? I've been through a lot of previous threads and checked with a number of companies mentioned there but they can't do it.

I spoke with them yesterday and they seemed very good, but also aren't doing compats. So far I've spoken to: Takeback - No compats Zero Waste - May go with these, but they charge per box. Greener-side - Will only have from partnered suppliers Stinky Ink Shop - Ceased service due to coronavirus PWD - Ceased service due to coronavirus Ink & Toner Recycling - Seem to still do it, but has a few bad reviews regarding constant spamming and don't seem very professional? Empties Please - No compats Infotone - No compats

Most cartridges are fully recyclable these days, just that many companies do not take them as they are "contaminated" due to the toner. In theory there is no reason why they cannot be recycled with your normal plastics (depending on provider). Failing that and you don't want to pay to bin them why not put them in normal waste if no one will take them, that's what I know the majority of people to do.

Yeah, we're trying to avoid that so thought I'd see if there are any other options. Our usual hardware recycler aren't able to do toners, so I might contact a few standard recyclers to see if they can take them before we either pay per box or chuck them.

No complaints so far. They leave us a big bin in the goods yard, we fill it up with all sorts of junk, give them a call and they come and swap for an empty bin. A few days later I get a report on all the assets, how they were disposed of and if required data destruction certs. Ignore the locations in the URL Header, we are in West Midlands and they collect from us. 2
