Simcfc73 Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 Noticed there doesn't seem to be a pre-authentication and post-authentication on the console too.. and the new Alpha management screen is weird.
MatthewL Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 I raised a RFC to upgrade ours and when I saw that put a stop to it. Not had chance to fully look but when I saw there was issues that was enough for me at the minute.
Simcfc73 Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 I thought it might be okay as they released 2 pretty much within a week... but guess not. One of the lovely things is you can assign wireless networks to groups of devices rather than having to have duplicate networks...which is a long time in coming. It doesn't populate the VLAN ID in the network view either.. which I hope is just cosmetic. The new alpha management screens has lots of cool features all greyed out. 1
Michael Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Version 6.0.23's out now. Anyone tested this?
Guest Guest Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 I installed 6.0.22 earlier this week and everythings been working fine
Simcfc73 Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 I'm on 6.0.23 The wireless users is a bit overblown... only 7 on at the weekend and all these. Wonder if its why my wireless is so abysmal.
Davit2005 Posted September 28, 2020 Author Posted September 28, 2020 I installed 6.0.22 earlier this week and everythings been working fine Yeah some issues may not have any effect but was just a heads up. I'm still on Pre 6.0.0 at home I'm in no hurry to update yet, I only have 2 unifi APs and no other Unifi network equipment.
synaesthesia Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 6.0.23_14253 here - can't see any major issues.
synaesthesia Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 I rescind my previous comments. To quote my daughter after dropping her guts for the 5th time in the space of 2 minutes "it's naaaaaaasty!" Had to revert back to a backup of the old controller after a new UP AC Mesh refused to mesh! Also a pain when you've of course upgraded the firmware on the affected AP's to match! They've tried to change so much and add bits in alpha/beta that it just confuses things massively. Beforehand you'd just set up a trunk by using the "All" network profile, but now they're tryin to shoehorn in tagging & untagging as well it just doesn't work. 1
ThatBoringBloke Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 I made the mistake of upgrading yesterday... Then added and upgraded a new AC Pro Lite AP. Whilst the new AP seemed to work it would not take any clients. Removed the software reinstalled 5.14.23 from backup, factory reset the AP (after finding some ladders) re-adopted and all running smooth again. I have a standard policy of always staying at least one version behind the latest version. Wish I'd stuck to that policy yesterday.
synaesthesia Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 Why even upgrade in the first place? Mine was a ballsup - needed to update something on the server so apt-get update & apt-get upgrade took care of that for me
Davit2005 Posted September 30, 2020 Author Posted September 30, 2020 (edited) Mine was a ballsup - needed to update something on the server so apt-get update & apt-get upgrade took care of that for me I have a cloud key plus at home but I'm in 2 minds whether I want to use it for anything but the Unifi Video TBH. I've already had it once when it removed users I'd created and I had to revert to the original I'd setup, thankfully I'd documented what I used. And I defo did create the users to match the Unifi controller I have running on Ubuntu. Edited September 30, 2020 by Davit2005
