techy32 Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 We have recently migrated to office 365 successfully and the automatic emails sent from our devices ( scan to email, backup jobs, spiceworks helpdesk) are going to the junk folder. These emails are coming from our own domain addresses. Where should we add our domain in order to receive it in the inbox? Any help would be useful. Thank you
FishCustard Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 Have you got an SPF mismatch because of on-site Exchange forwarding on messages? This is particularly likely to happen if you have some scanning appliance (e.g. a Barracuda) in front of your on-prem Exchange.
Davit2005 Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 At home I done this by a txt record on DNS for O365 domain but I still end up with some stuff going to Junk. Could be my setup, I have a internal PostFix server for devices that only have an IP address and port 25 options for email which forwards emails on to Office365 over an SSL connection. I have static IP addresses for home internet connection so did following. v=spf1 ip4:[PUBLIC IP ADDRESS] include:spf.protection.outlook.com ~all
techy32 Posted August 25, 2020 Author Posted August 25, 2020 This is all done be an external consultant... Apologies... I am picking up the issues now... I am not very familiar with SPF... Where should I be looking at or adding the rules?
Michael Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 The SPF record shouldn't be the issue. You need to add the sender address(es) to the Allow list within Exchange Admin > Protection > Spam Filter (top of my head). I'd advise against adding whole domains. 2
