This September, SLT have decided to get Year 12 and Year 13 to register via their ID cards on Entry-Sign.

We have the Entry-Sign MiFare terminals installed on external entrances.

I can register each card 1 at a time on the main Entry-Sign screen but will take time as will need to search for student and then register the card.

Does anyone know of a quicker way of registering cards.

Cheers

Not sure if it'll help, as we use Paxton Net2 Access, but our Yr 12 and Yr 13 students register the cards themselves at a MFD Device using PaperCut. Tap their card against the reader, PaperCut Embedded on the MFD requests the AD username and password and the card is then registered to them which is stored in the PaperCut Database. Script then runs once an hour which copies the Card Number into an AD Attribute, and we have Net2ADSyncServer which feeds this into Net2. This AD integration is great, as if we disable/delete a student account in AD it then blocks them access onto the site within a few minutes.

Appreciate it doesn't match what your using, but may help you point towards a different approach?

With a bit of effort we got AMI Education (our cashless catering provider, and the definitive authority for our MiFare card numbers) and Inventry (our sign-in system provider) to work together to allow a one-off bulk import of cards into the Inventry sign-in system.

Basically it was an export from AMI's system of the SIMSID and Card number, and and import of resulting CSV. Both sides had to knock up some relatively trivial sql scripts.
