Doing some reason seeing if anyone covers this product as the backend I think is in SharePoint.

Stream's back end is not SharePoint. It was built as a tech demo for Azure based services back in 2016/2017 before being tweaked to integrate as the office 365 video platform.

I doubt third party backup will be available until the API is released. ("CY2020")
