Single App but not

Hope all is well and everyone is starting to come out the other side of lockdown!

 

I have a load of ipads that I have been re setting. I am looking to have them lockdown but wanting to then put on apps as and when teachers/students request it e.g. so it's lockdown to Safari but would able to access Google Earth when required. I am using Apple config 2 but after playing around its obvious that this cannot happen on this MDM.

 

So my question is is there MDM's out there that will allow me to do this? Preferably free but any low cost options also welcomed!

the only way id see this happening is by hiding every app except the ones you wish to allow... dunno why youd buy an ipad to lock to safari though?

I've playground with apple classroom app and it would allow the teacher to restrict the apps to say safari and google earth. its not a lockdown solution. but it will restrict learners to a limited amount of apps. it will give the teacher a Remote Desktop type of view of the iPads and will allow the teacher to see who's doing what.

There is single app mode that will restrict the iPad to just one app, like a kiosk mode.
