[bromcom] Query re importing non-subject specific assessment data into Bromcom

Hi

 

I’m an assessment MSA working for a school which has transferred from SIMS to Bromcom.

 

My problem is this; I need to import non-subject specific data (e.g. CAT scores, KS2 data, and our own internal assessment criteria) into Bromcom, but as far as I can see, it's not currently possible to do this. I've attached a screenprint describing the issue, the last page of which illustrates that the system forces you to select a subject from the dropdown menu before you can import data from an external source.

 

Our Bromcom Customer Success Manager has advised me that it's possible to create additional subjects for these categories, for the purposes of importing non-subject specific data. Unfortunately my colleague, who would normally be able to investigate matters of this nature, is currently inundated with other Bromcom-related tasks related to the setting-up of the system for the new academic year.

 

Is there anyone out there who would be able to assist me with this matter? Is there anywhere within the documentation centre that I could refer to?

Hi CarterUSM, if we use your example of the Assessment Pathways, you can create a Subject called Pathways (in Curriculum), then when you import the Assessment Pathways results, map the subject to Pathways. Then when creating a Template for eg. year 7, you can add a column for Assessment Pathways, and select the subject Pathways.

 

The same process can be used for importing any results which are non subject-specific.

I'm in the migration process at the moment, not started moving over that type of data yet

My plan however was to make marksheets in Bromcom for things like CAT and internal assessments, export it into a spreadsheet from Bromcom, copy/paste or vlookup to put the results in... then import that into the empty Bromcom marksheet.
