Cable identification... Probably an easy one!

Hi all,

 

I've been sorting through some cables, and I've found a few of these... I'm not sure what the technical name is... I'm guessing it's mini HDMI to composite/RCA...

 

I've put a load of pegs up, and I'm meticulously labelling each one, and want to get it right!

 

My understanding is they link older cameras to a monitor. But not 100% if it is mini HDMI, and whether I can call it composite if it also has an audio RCA cable...

That won't be micro HDMI, it'll be a proprietary cable for a certain camera you own (or owned). If it was me, that'd be a cable that goes in the box of doom in the storeroom, it's not something you're likely to ever use.

Yeah, that's a proprietary cable - we've had them or similar with Samsung and Canon cameras.

Yep, there's probably a either a box somewhere else of aged low resolution cameras that were going to "transform teaching and learning" and rarely, if ever, got used. If there's not a box, they'll be at the back of teacher's drawers apart from the few that went home and never made it back to school or all thrown out. Might be worth saving one in case someone finds a camera that has some footage from 2005 on it that they need for someone's retirement. Can't you have a "Miscellaneous" or "Probably Junk" peg?
