Google Classroom Emails blocked O365 for single domain

Hello, hope everyone is coping the best they can during these times. I have been given the task of rolling out MS Teams and Google Classroom across the school. I am pushing teams as an admin but some subjects have already setup their own classes in google classroom as the teachers have come from a google background.

 

Good news is that we now have our classes made using SDS in Teams and i am about to roll it out this week, the bad news is that all Google mail sent from my domain is getting caught in the spam filter of office 365. I have been in contact with Microsoft and Google support to try and resolve this but this is still ongoing. I have added an SPF rule in my DNS so i now have one for O365 and one for Google as this was one of the suggestions from support but the email is still getting caught in the quarantine. My MX record points to O365 and i would still like to keep this as the default.

 

Has anyone had to setup a single domain with O365 and Google emails?

 

Any feedback would greatly be appreciated.

Michael you are a life saver!! All seems to be looking good so far, just sent an email from gmail and it did not get blocked. I think one of the issues is that I had 2 seperate SPF TXT records where after doing some research you can only have one. I have also put in the forward rules from your link and everything is looking good.

This, and making sure that your entries are validated, can take up to 24 hours.

Test with Google MX tools or similar.
