My maths and “programming” teacher at school was Tim Berners-Lee’s mum.

The Duke of Edinburgh called my Dad a nutcase. My Dad had just done a presentation on exporting KP nuts at a conference and they were in the gents at the same time afterwards.

One of my best friend’s sister’s husband measured Kylie’s bottom apparently for building part of a stage set.

I was in a meeting at the House of Commons at the same time as Billy Bragg.

I've met a few over the years, my mum worked in radio broadcasting in London & SE during the 80s & 90s and I would tag along with her. Late 90s/early 00s I would tag along with a mate who was a TV cameraman for Sky covering premier league football. My wife is friends with George Michael's family, although we didn't meet him, I did have a beer and cigar with his father at a party once. More recently I've met some F1 drivers at races, most of the W Series field as I was at the last race of the last season. In the past week or so I've met some very well know faces (inc F1) who are parents at my school.

I forgot to mention that I met Gazza and Paul Stuart in a hotel bar in the 90's (during their Spurs days I was told as I am not a football fan). Gazza also sat on my FIL's front wall while waiting for his sister's wedding. I met Thin Lizzy on a ferry gong to Sweden. They were almost impossibly tall.

I have remembered another occasion when I DIDN'T meet a celebrity.

While I was a student (many years ago now), a few fellow students and I were sitting in a large beer garden on a pleasant, sunny day. One of the other students noticed that Julian Cope was sitting, some distance away, at one of the other picnic tables. He (the fellow student) kept talking about him, so I said maybe he should go over and have a chat, but he said no.

That was the non-encounter.

Won a competition to name the pit complex at Silverstone 10 years ago. At the opening, met and spoke to . Moss, Hill, Coulthard, Webber, Button, Stewart, Williams, Horner, Brawn to name a few. Sat on Hamilton's 2008 car and Senna's MP4/4.

Saw Murray Walker but despite all the above names and chats, was too starstruck to talk.

That is awesome! The MP 4/4 and Lewis car. Wow.

Which reminds me that I met some personalities at Barcelona F1 testing. Sky TVs Craig Slater was very chatty and a nice guy. Lewis waves and Bottas said hello. Had a chat with Max Verstappen but best of all, achieved a bucket list item - a chat and photo with Ted Kravitz (“all these drivers and you want a photon with me?!”)

My cousin is also a pretty famous director - films to now American TV series. Hard Candy to Hannibal and American Gods

A football related one, given the euros are ongoing, I'm facebook friends with the MC from Collapsed Lung, performers of "eat my goal".

Met through a mutual friend during a party at uni, and kept in touch since!

I once spent the night with Toyah Wilcox.

Before you raise an eyebrow we were taking part in an overnight ghost hunt in a very very old local theater, it was recorded for a supernatural TV program back in the late 90's.

She was genuinely a very nice person and she even signed my old vinyl copy of Anthem from when I was a wee boy.

Ummm... I used to work in the entertainment industry, so...

I've toured with Utah Saints, Idlewild, the Berlin Symphony, The Bournemouth Symphony and Martin Carthy

I've sound engineered DJs and producers: Judge Jules, Fedde Le Grand, Mauro Picotto, Danny Rampling (with the BSO), Martin Solveig, Sash! and quite a few others. I've also engineered quite a few folk acts including Ade Edmundson and the Bad Shepherds and Eliza Carthy. I've also engineered comedy from Janet Street Porter, Miles Jupp, Lee Evans, Jack Dee, Lucy Porter, and others. I was at University with Sara Pascoe and Cariad Lloyd. I went to school with Eddie Argos and Ian Catskilkin from Art Brut and I'm friends with Dan from The Wytches. :getmecoat:

**Edit, Just remebered another few... I went to an after show party once from an am-dram show and John Wetton and Robert Fripp of King Crimson were at it... I also went to a friends' engagment party and apparently her boyfriend is something big in synths and his mates Giorgio Moroder and Greg Lake were there.

**Edit 2, I've also engineered the Queen when she open the new halls and arena at Bovingston Tank Museum, but I didn't get to actually meet her, my colleague who has previous security clearance fitted her with a radio mic.

She made tea for everyone, helped clear up and chatted with us as if she'd known us all for years. Top celeb.

When I was working the tills at Safeway my supervisor came over to me all giddy going "Did you get his autograph?" I was completely bemused until I found out I had just served Julian on my till. Didn't even realise!

I lit Sweeney Todd (Colin Firth in the title role) - we were both about 18 and at the same 6th form college.

My father worked at Johnson Space Center - working directly with real astronauts.
