I have 2 exchange servers in a DAG. Both have a 146gb raid 1 drives with the OS on.

Both are running fine, however i'm having an issue with 1 of the servers.

The disk space keeps reducing.

On 1 of the servers, i have 45gb of free space - iclear the IIS logs out every so often to keep plenty of space.

THe other server gets down to 10gb free space and I am unable to clear the IIS log files any more than I have.

When i do a foldersize comparison between the 2 servers c drives i find the following:

On the server with the lowest space, the WinSXS folder is hugely larger than the other server.

Is there anything i can safely do to reduce the size of the folder without having knock on effects now, or in the future with any changes to the server.

THnaks,

You can compress the parts of WinSxS that aren’t be used. This takes longer when you install any extra components etc, but I had to do all of these tricks on my old Exchange server as I made C: too small.

Have you moved all of the log locations?
