E_G_R2 Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 Hi, we want to have one to one music lessons where the tutor and pupil have a video lesson through Teams. Is it possible does anyone know to do the following? Can we set it so that only the owners of a Team can record an audio or video call in a Team meeting? Is it possible to lock down the call functionality so only staff can initiate calls to students and not vice versa i.e. students can receive calls but not make them; staff can make and receive calls? Any pointers would be appreciated
DrCheese Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 Believe you can do point 1 in the meeting policies bit - I've done this by setting the default policy to disallow recording & then deployed a seperate policy to staff Point 2 - I don't think this is possible the only way to block this at present is to disable IP video & Chat for students - You'd need to enable those to let them 1 on 1 a staff member. Alternative is to create a team (Whist still having chat/IP video block for students) & then have the teacher run a meeting within that - They'll still be able to see the teacher. However I'd strongly advise against doing anything 1 on 1 right now - Our unions have issued strong advise that we're not to do this & I wouldn't be doing so if I was a teacher.

RobFuller Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 are 1-1 meetings on teams with pupils advisable? safe guarding implications possibly? We have some students who are hearing impaired so voice only isn't really ideal. Our normal policy for everyone else is no 1-2-1 or video calls.
