SIMS invoice - do we need all these items?

see pic. we do use intouch. and import photos. and NovaT. Lesson monitor. I assume we need the rest of it too? In Start up kit II - does 'Reporting' mean ie the reports we generate and send home? and I suppose Personnel is what HR use to put all us staff in sims?

 

EAch of the yellow packages has it's own cost. Nearly £20k +vat seems a lot

The only thing I'd say you definitely could question on are Teacher App unless you're using iPads for registers/timetables/assessments and InTouch unless you're using it for the parental engagement side of things. Everything else looks like the core of SIMS .net

yeah thanks. The PE dept use the teacher app, but I'm wondering (I don't know) if it could be done using edulink? which we have but I don't know if it could do that in some way

Are you paying for the Teacher App on a per user basis? One can get the app on either a per pupil or per user licence.

I assume it's related to the number of pupils we have and the figure is a nice round £2.5k!

Why do you need the Teacher App when you also have Edulink? Don't they do the same thing? Edulink has an App for parents and teachers.

I think you're right. But we're locked into teacher app until next year anyway now so I'll have to cancel next Nov / Dec if I want to stop paying for it. All the capita licences can only be canceled around that time (prior to beginning of Feb I believe)

Hi,

The 'Reporting' in the start up kit is not the reports which tend to be sent home, this I think is linked to Assessment Manager through Individual Report although it probably uses the reporting engine. Reporting in the Start up kit is basically everything in the Reports menu including the analysis tools and design/edit reports. Seems a silly way of doing it as the data seems totally linked - but that's SIMs.

I think Start-Up Kit is the bare statutory minimum for running the school without any modules. So storing student and staff data, census data, AM/PM registration and SEN. The reporting tool is what you use to create and run reports in SIMS.

Pricing information I have from Oct 2015 for the Teacher App was £2 per pupil or 1 user £204 per year, 2 users £324 per year or 5 users £600 per year. So if it is just the PE staff using it, it may be cheaper to licence it on a per user basis.
