AlexM Posted February 9, 2020 Posted February 9, 2020 Hi all, just wondering if anyone has experience of decent laptop trollies that are cheap and cheerful? Another thing that would be useful is a trolley that doesn't make it too difficult to remove the chargers from - so many make them a little too permenantly installed which can be a pain when you want to guarantee a laptop session (for example when taking part in the national tests). Any advice on suppliers would be very gratefully received.

Any advice on suppliers would be very gratefully received. if a) they don;t have to move the trolley (OK - i.e. it is not a trolley - but I have come across this a lot) and b) you can trust the users to not try to remove the charger themselves then these may be worth looking at https://www.lockershopuk.co.uk/lockers-online/laptop-lockers Used them in my last school - the shelves have a plug at the back for the charger - I stuck some industrial Velro to the roof of the shelf and onto the charger so it would stick to the roof - easy to remove when necessary But, of course, you need to be able to trust people not to remove them themselves - because you know they will not put them back! of course that does make them useless for most people - but it depends on what you need - worked great at my last school (mostly)
mavhc Posted February 9, 2020 Posted February 9, 2020 Always label chargers so you can tell who nicked them

Andrew_C Posted February 10, 2020 Posted February 10, 2020 I have one that may be available second hand. Lapsafe, currently set up for Dell Inspiron 1546. Charging is built in, so your PSUs can be kept for ad-hoc use. 20 slots and two shelves, but I have extra giblets so it could be expanded. PM me if interested; shipping would be a significant cost; it is HEAVY.
