Hi Guys - Its been a while since i visited!!

So, I'm getting so fed up with Server 2016 being so rubbish with Windows Updates that I was looking at maybe doing a few in-place upgrades to 2019 (yes, this is supported!)

I've done a couple of minor servers so far and its gone well without any issues. However, I've got a Server 2016 server running SQL 2016 now that I would love to upgrade but, obviously with SQL involved, I'm a little nervous.

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience of doing this and if there are any issues? Its a VMWare server so if nothing else, I'll just snapshot it and roll back if needed but I thought I'd ask the question!

Thanks!

Should work fine, i've done a few that were Hyper-V VM's. Just try it in a test environment if it doesnt work no issues.

yer, I was going to try a test first, just wondered if anyone had had any experience!

I find in place upgrades to be pretty solid these days. Obvs not DCs...

I just successfully in-placed all three of my DCs with zero issues. Took a veeeeeeery long time but no problems at all.
