you can disable right click on the start menu iirc

You can do this with a reg key.

HKEY_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\NoTrayContextMenu

Set a REG_DWORD value of 1

and

HKEY_Local_Machine\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer\DisableContextMenusInStart

Set a REG_DWORD value of 1

We disabled all search and Cortana for students.

Computer GPO

Policies > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Software Restriction Policies > Additional Rules > New Path Rule

Add C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_cw5n1h2txyewy

The search box is still there but they can't click into it and they also can't search direct from the Start Menu. This also stops them searching within File Explorer.

It locks down more than I want but I've done it to stop pupils accessing stuff.
