Unfair sending off as it was not malicious intent and before anyone say's anything in protest i am not a football fan would much rather watch a man's game of Rugby be it league or union.

Football is made up of overpaid, overrated and basically spoilt brat's. How people such as surgeons and doctors who save lives manage to control their feelings of being poorly underpaid as opposed to these so called professionals i don't know.

Bring back the colloseum and let these footballers fight to the death then it would be worth paying to watch hehe!

I am over the moon! Man Utd should of won it in the first half - had so many good chances, fair play to Chelsea they stuck at it. But the better team won in the end! :)

The problem in my house was that we didn't actually want either side to win...! Neither team is particularly liked!!

If your not supporting either team, then your supporting Football - and football won last night, what a game!

how can you say well done to a team that has spent millions to win the competition.

Not one to nitpick, but Chelsea tried the same. e.g. £30 million signing Shevchenko didn't even get a game. I think we can agree that you need to spend a bit of money to compete at that level?

If Accrington Stanley had won, then I'd be saying well done!

lets be realistic here...no team who have the budget of...accrington stanley?...would win the european cup would they...every team that has ever won the cup in modern times has spent big to win it

I don't think the better team won... the luckiest team won. Lest we forget Chelsea hit the woodwork twice.... where were Man U's efforts? In my humble opinion, both sides played equally well.

Admittedly, Ronaldo's goal was world class, then he fluffed his penalty! He is an amazing player though.

Lampard's goal showed the determination the Chelsea team had, in that he pursued the ball to the end, and it was only that John Terry appeared to slip that he missed that penalty.

I didn't care who won either as I don't tend to follow football, but I thought it was an excellent match, albeit spoiled by a few hyped up players who were unable to control their tempers.

Drogbar's sending off was warranted - you can't 'slap' a player and expect no recourse, whatever prompted it. I think it will be quite interesting when those teams meet next season!

Out of interest, i had a wee dig.

Porto 2004 Champions League team:

Vitor Baia, Nuno Valente, Ricardo Carvalho, Jorge Costa©, Paulo Ferreira, Costinha, Nuno Maniche, Pedro Mendes, Deco, Derlei, Carlos Alberto Gomes, Dmitri Alenichev, Pedro Emanuel, Benni McCarthy

'Pool's 2005 team:

Dudek, Finnan, Traore, Hyypia, Carragher, Riise, Gerrard, Luis Garcia, Alonso, Kewell, Baros, Carson, Josemi, Nunez, Biscan, Hamann, Cisse, Smicer

Woulda cost them a few quid? Obviously not quite in the same league as Utd or Chelski's spending, but still...

I have to admit though, i love seeing big spending teams getting humped by small teams with no budget but big hearts and teamwork. I forgot who it was, but i watched a game with 2 Italian teams many years ago, one full of superstars and one who hadn't changed their lineup in 2 years. The little team beat them. Real have tried the same - a team full of big names and big egos, but limited results (yes i know they won la liga this year though)

benitéz barely spent 20 mil that season! reál were trying to be the harlem globetrotters..they've now got balance and their team plays some good football. barcelona have an ageing defence they're heading towards the direction of ac milan. bring on next season!
