TSEARS Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Had a teacher report that when they type, the computer would miss out chunks when they are typing, then suddenly catch up and type all the text. Happens in different applications. Also, apparently, this happens on more than one computer for this user. We have tried replacing the keyboard, replacing the RAM, rebuilding the machine. Its running Windows 1909 with an SSD and i7 processor so spec won't be the issue. The problem is I have not been able to replicate the issue on the admin or test account. Anyone seen this issue before?
smadison Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Check if they are running an old version of the Smart Notebook software. If so disable and I bet it goes away.
KevinB Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 I remember seeing this some time ago. My memory is hazy, but I seem to remember it was something to with an interaction between Impero, Read & Write Gold and Windows' keyhooks. Both programs were fighting for control of reading the keyboard input. There was a registry setting involved but I'm sorry I can't remember it or look it up as it was on an earlier incarnation of our network, all I can rmember is the word "keyhooks".
