This is an infant ICT suite so it won't have been children throwing things at the screen. There is no surface damage, changed cables etc, can't quite work out what the cause could have been. It isn't an issue as I have spares, just curious as to what on earth would cause such a thing!

As far as I can see, no one has moved it or done anything to it as the wires are all cable tied in under the desk so they wouldn't have even been able to put it on it's side as they are so tight. Did a child assume it was a touch screen and, on getting no response, poked harder? Maybe, but they must have hit it quite hard. I am surprised they have not damaged their fingers!
jthompson Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 I'm not sure that those spots are necessarily from impact damage, as you'd expect to see shattering if that was the case. Could they be some sort of fluid leaking in between layers of the display? The slightly glowing bottom edge looks more like pressure on the display. Could it have got wet? 2
localtech Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 I would put my money on this, the screen has fallen forward onto the keyboard and the pressure of the raised back of the keyboard has coursed the damage to the bottom of the screen, Teacher has picked up the screen and thought that looks pretty!!

This. I'd say the two outer circles are the same width apart as the corners of the keyboard.
