ZeroHour Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 200 miles up, and 200 miles back. Most likely £60 spent not including the meal. I'll think about it... and if I will have any money left. These guys said 500 miles is fine: 2

DJ-1701 Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 These guys said 500 miles is fine: They are a darn sight fitter than I am.

Katy Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 I’ll go with the pie place or the Italian, can’t get the menu for the bbq place to show on my phone
Dos_Box Posted December 5, 2019 Author Posted December 5, 2019 ooh bbq The Ferrett does VERY nice food, and lots of it too for a reasonable price. I may just book them as they cater for all types and again, they cook fresh. I've never yet been able to finish their mammoth ribs!
StevieM Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 According to CAMRA's WhatPub.com, The Otter's Pocket and Ferret are both dog-friendly. That means I came come without feeling guilty about leaving my buddy at home...again...if that's alright with y'all. 2

Andycat Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 If I do come, it will be ad hoc, no food. But looking doubtful, sorry.

Katy Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 Suppose the bbq one looks ok if they’ll do a plain-ish burger for me. Wtf is a “hoagie”??
StevieM Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 I have no problem with doggies. Then count us in!
DJ-1701 Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 I have no problem with doggies. Being able to bring a dog adds to the temptation.
StevieM Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 Being able to bring a dog adds to the temptation. Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! If I can make it to Salisbury...twice...you can manage Preston. These guys said 500 miles is fine: So are you coming, too, @ZeroHour?
sted Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 Suppose the bbq one looks ok if they’ll do a plain-ish burger for me. Wtf is a “hoagie”?? i think its just another name for sandwich like a sub 1
Dos_Box Posted December 5, 2019 Author Posted December 5, 2019 Suppose the bbq one looks ok if they’ll do a plain-ish burger for me. Wtf is a “hoagie”?? They can let you adjust your burger too. Ooh! Ooh! I've just remembered, they do a Chrismas Dinner Burger at this time of year. A hand made turkey mince burger with ALL the trimmings. I do hope they have them back on.
Dos_Box Posted December 5, 2019 Author Posted December 5, 2019 Booked The Ferret for Saturday the 14th at 1pm. And they are having the Xmas dinner burger on as well as a lot of new items which you can see on their Facebook page here - https://www.facebook.com/FerretPreston/ Also, please find below a map of its location (really easy to find) and about 12 mins walk from the train station. 2
StevieM Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 So, just to confirm, it's The Ferret for lunch and The Otter for tea, with a few other stops along the way.
