Office 365 - Remove Reseller

Hi all

 

Not work related, but struggling to find an answer elsewhere.

 

I'm helping a friend with a website. Currently the domain is hosted by 123reg and through that 123reg resell Office 365.

 

They are wanting to move the domain away from 123reg, however they want to keep Office 365 and pay for this direct to Microsoft.

 

Has anyone any idea what the best way to achieve this is? I can't find much info on it anywhere.

So if you login to admin.microsoft.com, goto Billing > Billing Accounts > Partner Relationships - remove the 123reg relationship ( remove delegated permissions ) add your new partner and before the 123 reg licences expire buy new ones from the new provider - they will auto transfer over when the old ones expire.

It's a single user, but as it's for thier business I want to try and find the easiest way to do it without losing any mail in the mean time. Otherwise I would just setup a new tenant and migrate it across.

Thanks for this - when I look at the partner relationship and removing it, I see it says they can still purchase on our behalf - if I get them to buy direct from Microsoft the same licence, remove the delegated permission and get them to get the 123reg licence canceled, it should all just pick up automatically?

Yup - that should do it - 123reg will still show but have no permissions.
