10 -15m HDMI run 4k

At the stage of being about ready to start wiring my house that is being renovated. Will have Sky Box and Xbox in a different room to where the TV is. It is about a 10m run but 15m cables will probably be used as there are some bends to go round.

 

I want to be able to view everything in 4k still so would you run the cables or would you run ethernet and then convert at each side?

Run both? If you cables make sure they are good enough quality. I had some hdmi cables as part of a sender/receiver and they were rubbish, kept dropping the image so swapped them out and now it’s crisp and fluent.

 

Senders will have a slight delay, so assume you would be ok with a slight delay on the sky box, but Xbox might be annoying.

Extenders can be fiddly when we trialled them, we used Lindy ones and removed them and put a micro pc in place in the end

Basically no real cheap way of this this then? Will the senders and receivers defiantly have lag?

This is what we use on our small seminar rooms - it's not fibre but active copper so bit more resilient. Also bear in mind you need to get it the right way round as the amplifier is powered by the HDMI.

What do you expect from CPC?? Don't let that sway you though - Van Damme are one of the best out there.

 

Regarding the product above from Amazon I'd stay well clear - any HDMI product I've used that involves adapters such as that sound nice but are a pain due to the adapters working loose and breaking connection (even with a screw). I'd only use proper sized connectors from now on.
