Adobe CC licence question

Currently we have 250 licences for CS6 and our Head of ICT wants us to put a proposal together for SMT to move to Adobe CC.

 

I'm still a bit confused as to what is the most efficient licence route to take and how the implementation would work in practice.

 

From a worst case scenario, I'd like to cover 1380 students and 150 members of staff with the ability to use the full CC suite on any of our 800 PC's and laptops.

What would be the most efficient way to licence this use and would it require each person to be setup with an Adobe ID?

 

If that was too expensive, could we make savings by a) reducing the number of users accessing the software or b) reducing the number of devices which the software is accessible from? Again I presume each user needs to be setup with an adobe ID?

 

Is there anyway to licence CC 2019 that does not require each user to either manually or by single sign on use an adobe logon?

NUL (Named User Licenses) are ~£4.50 per license. You pre-install the software on every PC in school, but only users with a NUL and Adobe ID (sync'd to your AD) can log in. The named users can also download and install at home and on tablets etc. Minimum 500 licenses per purchase. Each user can be signed into 2 devices at once. Logging into a 3rd device (allows you to) kill the session on the 1st device.

 

SDL (Shared Device Licenses) are ~£20 per license. You install on every licensed PC in school. No home-use or tablet-use included. Minimum 25 licenses per purchase.

 

We just bought 1800 NUL which covers Year 8-13 and 200 other users, either staff or year 7.

 

You don't need to buy licenses for users that won't use it, and you could give half of year 7 licenses for 1 month, then re-assign them to the other half of year 7 for the next month, so they could all do the same module of work, but at different times of the term/year.

Is there a limit to how many times a licence can be re-assigned?

I’ve not hit one yet, but I only reassign each summer when Y13 leave and Y7 join.

I've just been advised the minimum buy has now reduced from 500 to 300.
