SIMS screen shrinkage problem

We have a weird issue in SIMS. When a teacher saves a behaviour incident, the screen resolution in just the SIMS app, not the rest of the windows environment, jumps to some crazy small setting, and the only way to resolve it is to exit SIMS and log in again.

 

The two laptops I've seen it on so far are Dells. Initial thoughts were video driver.. could it still be that?
