Server room monitoring

Does anyone have a suggestion for a bit of kit to monitor our server room - temperature, humidity etc.

It doesn't need to be complicated but it must be a network device that can send alerts via email.

 

EDIT: cheap would also be good.

You could probably build one out of a Raspberry Pi. Ours does temperature monitoring, has a PIR sensor and takes photographs on anyone entering our server room and emails it out.

I used to use one called Temper - software was a bit dodgy - had to be downloaded at home as it was blocked in school - but there was something better written by a german bloke that was available for free so you just needed the USB-serial driver

 

Worked well and had several levels of alerts including emails and website logging

 

I'm sure there are similar ones available nowadays as that was many years ago - just look for USB thermometer on Amazon
