We have a Magicard Enduro 3e. Seems to do the job, but haven't timed it. Should be a bit quicker than your though.

Our old Enduro was about 30 seconds a card, Rio Pro 360 just timed at 18 seconds a card during a long job. So yeah both loads quicker than the OP's current device.

Our Reprographics department uses a Zebra P330i card printer (with MiFare encoder)

It's quite old now. The ribbon breaks quite often and it will sometimes stop encoding the cards as it prints them (usually cured by restarting the computer)

It is quite annoying now, but it has done good service in its time.

Evolis Primacy. We do about 1000 cards a year on ours and it doesn't skip a beat.

To add, the Primacy is rated at 1000 cards an hour for mono prints. Drops to about 200-250 for full colour (don't have exact timings).

We just had a Zebra ZC300 card printer implemented as part of our new build project. It seems quite clunky, but it's rated for 140 double sided colour cards per hour which seems to be the general norm for card printers. Just from my experiences, the quality of printing on ID cards seems to be pretty shoddy across the board too.
