ajg Posted July 15, 2019 Posted July 15, 2019 Hi, just wondering if anyone has Sims running on Server 2019 yet? The technical road map says Spring 2020 as officially supported but thinking I can kill two birds with one stone here and upgrade my sims server at the same time as some other upgrades? Thanks.
CHiLL Posted July 15, 2019 Posted July 15, 2019 I've been running SIMS on 2019 since summer last year and haven't had any issues. We've even had Capita support remoted in for SOLUS or general issues (like reports, bugs, etc) and they've not batted an eyelid about it being 2019. 1
ajg Posted July 15, 2019 Author Posted July 15, 2019 Hi CHiLL, couldn't see an issue with it not working but thought I'd better check first! Thanks.
TwistedHelixis Posted July 15, 2019 Posted July 15, 2019 Just for balance, I am upgrading all our other servers to 2019 but leaving the SIMS server until it's officially supported. Our LA who we have our support through, love an excuse not to help and this would be one of those times. 1
kennysarmy Posted July 15, 2019 Posted July 15, 2019 Upgrading the majority of our servers to 2019 in the summer but leaving SIMS on 2012 R2 until it's officially supported. Or maybe in the meantime we might even move to another MIS system (please!) 1
localzuk Posted July 15, 2019 Posted July 15, 2019 I would always advise sticking to the officially supported editions of software when it comes to SIMS. You don't know what weirdness may happen and then you'll find yourself stuck if your support don't want to help because of it. 1
ajg Posted July 15, 2019 Author Posted July 15, 2019 Hi, thanks for the responses. On reflection I'll hang fire I think and wait till next year and possibly save myself any potential aggro!
