Jobos Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 The HT would like three monitors on his desk. For a two monitor setup we normally just use a display port adaptor for the second monitor but this time I think a new video card is called for so what cards are recommended? Thanks in advance.
6Foot2 Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 Many of my stations are already three screen enabled with either two display ports and VGA, or VGA, Display Port, and HDMI (when I have tried to run three monitors I found them an bit clunky and crashing more often than a HT would put up with. I did add RAM)

LeMarchand Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 I've got an HD 7770 I removed from home and a second-hand HD 6850 I got for <£20 from eBay (+ appropriate adapters for our VGA monitors). Both seem fine. I don't think you need a ridiculously powerful card unless the head is doing a lot of graphics -intensive work.

And the rest! The GT210 was released for public purchase ten (10!)years ago!! nVidia has gone through seven generations of card since! The 210 was a workhorse though! Even with DDR2 memory!

I'm going to add that I used a similar setup under windows 7, but it wouldn't work when I upgraded to Windows 10. Ended up getting a triple output graphics card, but this was a few years ago now.

I've currently got 2x 22" monitors via VGA and DisplayPort. I've got another 22" and 24" ready to be used, but can't find a decent graphics card to power them. They're all DELL monitors and have VGA, HDMI and DisplayPort so have a few options for connections.

Jobos Posted June 24, 2019 Author Posted June 24, 2019 I should be ok, @ICTDirect_Dave has sorted me a nVidia Quadro NVS315. The HT is having an office refurbishment over the summer and the 3 monitors will go in then. I'll report back when it's up and running. 1
Jobos Posted June 27, 2019 Author Posted June 27, 2019 (edited) Did a test of the Quadro NV315 today using 3 old monitors and it worked a treat. The NV315 has 2 VGA outputs plus I used the onboard VGA so 3 monitors. Really easy to setup running on win10 1903 Edited June 27, 2019 by Jobos 1
