I have concerns that the odd pupils are logging in as someone else. Without grabbing hold of their mouse and clicking on the start button I can't see who they are logged in as when wandering around a classroom. Does anyone know of any software that just sits on the taskbar and displays the username of the person who is logged in? Might be a bit of a deterrant. I'm sure I remember something for windows 3.11..... (showing my age now!)

Thanks for the tip and I think i'm going to be adding this to our servers. Very useful! But with opening an application this background would then disappear unless i've missed something.

I wrote a little VB app that sits at the bottom right hand corner that cannot be closed and sits on top of all applications. Shows username, PM me if you want the compiled exe

we use something called icontool that does the same..sits in the taskbar with the user name as a title on it, unkillable, maximises into a shortcut bar. Needs a username set by variable though, which ours do automatically.

God knows where it came from..we had it under NT4 originally.
