I'm a new user. I work as a 4-H Youth Specialist for University of Missouri Extension. I'm headquartered in Newton County MO and work in 3 adjacent counties. We've recently acquired 6 Digiblue QX5 Microscopes and am looking to see if there is software that will make them work with Windows 10.

Probably not worth the effort, the software was always terrible, qx3 didn't even work properly with xp, or dual core cpus.

If you're running 64-Bit (which unless you only have 3GB of RAM, why wouldn't you) it's not compatible. Edited by DJ-1701

Welcome to EDUGEEK!

If you use the search function on here (or Google 'Digiblue QX5 Microscope' the second hit for me is EDUGEEK results) it doesn't look very promising! You will find 99% of techs (including myself) gave up on these about 10 years ago - ours went in the trash after a week of trying to find compatible drivers for Win 10 (and failing), getting it installed on Win 7 only for it to crash or deny it was plugged in and eventually resorting to XP and being very disappointed with the results....

Not worth the effort.

I tried hard to get them to work with Windows 7 but couldnt even do that - ending up throwing them away I'm afraid

yeah maybe there might be a generic driver if you can find out who actually manufactured the hardware? sometimes these firms just repackage other vendors optics into a gaudy blue plastic case.

I haven't seen a digiblue device in 10 years. It'd be like hunting down 64bit drivers for an old inkjet printer, a wild goose chase.

TTS just rebrand stuff, so aren't in control of the software. They did hire a hardware engineer recently, so now they're not completely outsourcing everything.

Basically try to get something with no software, and built in Windows drivers. Then you can use any software you want with it.

Hi there.

Found your post and files, downloaded and copied files over existing. Install on Win 10 which seemed to work (failed before with 32 bit), but Digital Blue seems still not to work. Have I missed something, or assumed the incorrect way to complete?

Thanks

Tony

Hi there downloaded and installed NTlite, but I can't see the device in the list displayed (unless it is listed as something slughtly obscure)... (nor in system manager come to that). I have had this Digital Blue kicking around and not able to use for about 6-7 years, so I thought 1 final attempt....

When you open the ISO, goto the Drivers section and drag and drop the driver folder in to it. That will add the driver files to the image so when you plug the device in, it understands it correctly.

Tried that and get the following error :-

Existing item: Digital Blue | marsqx5.inf | 1.0.0.0 04/04/2007 x86

Wrong architecture: C:\Users\tonys\Downloads\Digital_Blue_QX5_Microscope\Digital_Blue_QX5_Microscope\stvqx5.inf

Oddly there is not a stvqx5.inf file

But there are :-

stvqx5 Cabinet file

stvqx5 Security Catalogue

stvqx5 Setup information

stvqx5.inf1 INF1 File

stvqx5.sys System file

stvqx5.sys1 SYS1 File

Looking into the "stvqx5 Setup information" file there seem to be lots of 32 bit references. Not quite sure if its looking for installed files or trying to install them??

Thanks for your assistance and time

Tony
