Hi,

Would anyone be willing to share how much they pay for their internet connection - I just want to make sure that what we are paying is reasonable.

We currently have a 200mb leased line which we pay £4200 a year for - would be very interested to see what others pay.

It’s difficult as it all depends on where you are and when you took out your contract.

Prices come down every month at the moment.

1gb lines are now about £5k a year.

300mb about £3.5k

We pay £299 a month for our 300mb fibre line from Exa Networks. Had it in over a year now and not had one problem.

I've just got a quote from the Daisy Group, 1Gbps for £600pm. Considering how rural we are £7.2k pa seemed pretty good. or 100Mbps over a gigabit line for £370

Recently had a 1G/1G line installed, the prices I was quoted ranged from £560/month to £880/month (both ex VAT). That's on a 3 year contract with no setup fee, however we've already had Openreach fibre blown in 2012 spare. We're on a Virgin tail but provided over an Openreach fibre (as we're not in a Virgin area).

When I was pricing it up there was very little difference between 200M over Gig and Gig over Gig.

That is a good price, of course depending on your zone if an Openreach Circuit. Since the start of this month we've seen some fairly large price reductions in certain zones and we are starting to see 1Gb/1Gb connections becoming cheaper than 300Mb. It might be worth speaking to your provider to see what they can do you for a faster connection
