My "good" server in the school I'm in right now is rocking a pair of E5-2609 v2's with 64Gb of RAM! The other server is a E3-1225 v5 with 8Gb RAM...

JordanT91 Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 Has anyone else come across quite severe coil whine on this model? I've had to switch to balanced instead of performance in the power management to make it go away. It's a well known problem on the HP workstations apparently.
synaesthesia Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 Ours are oddly silent (compared to our old desktops). As long as it's coil whine; it's the same noise from caps to be worried about.

Much as I'd love to do you another Z620, I'm totally out of them
