You know how we haven't figured out the upgrade-a-thon prize for me yet?

;)

Nice try, Sir! However I think our winner might be miffed if I gave away a better system that he got as first prize!

I tell you what. I'll take a really nice picture of a '620 and send you that. That should satisfy all parties ;)

Wouldn't even be for me to use! My "good" server in the school I'm in right now is rocking a pair of E5-2609 v2's with 64Gb of RAM! The other server is a E3-1225 v5 with 8Gb RAM...

That's one of those ML10 Gen9's perchance?

They're particularly awful bits of kit!

I'll have to double check tomorrow! The other school has 2 RM servers...

Has anyone else come across quite severe coil whine on this model? I've had to switch to balanced instead of performance in the power management to make it go away. It's a well known problem on the HP workstations apparently.

£830? I have it at £595. Admittedly £215 more expensive, but it is much newer, with 10 cores and DDR4!!

Wouldn't it be £830 if you maxed everything out?

£830 maxed out and £630 with the minimum that we need (32GB RAM, 240GB SSD & 1TB HDD). Still over £200 more than what I paid ex-VAT for the Z620.

No special deals for Edugeeks? :D

This is a special deal. This is expensive kit!! :)

I can probably give you the 1TB drive for free if you needed. Much as I'd love to do you another Z620, I'm totally out of them :(
