ICTDirect_Dave Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 And under appreciated too, but let me say that we appreciate all the hard work you do. Calling back to our Upgradathon competition last year, we know that a lot of you have to do work on underpowered machines. Well... As a thank you for your continued hard work and support, ICT Direct would like to offer you all the chance to buy yourselves something a little special. I've got a hundred HP Z620 workstations set aside just waiting for you lot to put a name on them. The powers that be have let me knock the price right down whilst keeping the spec right up there. So feast your eyes on this treat:

HP Z620 Tower Workstation 1 x Intel Xeon E5-2680 2.70GHz Octa-Core CPU 32GB DDR3 ECC 1600MHz RAM New 240GB SSD nVidia Quadro 4000 2GB GDDR5 Dedicated Graphics Windows Professional License 2 Years Warranty http://www.ict-direct.co.uk/media/edugeek/Z620.jpg

It's a pocket monster with more than enough, cores, ram and graphical grunt to take anything you want to throw at it. How much I hear you cry? Well, this superb specimen is available to buy for just £380 per unit!! Purchases limited to two per school and are only available to EduGeek users. Need a little more convincing? Take a look at that CPU versus a 2nd and 4th Gen core i5. https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/Intel-i5-2400-vs-Intel-Xeon-E5-2680-vs-Intel-i5-4590/793vs1221vs2234 Think of the test VMs you could run on that without even noticing!! The offer runs until the end of this month or until stocks run out, whichever comes first. PM me direct on here or email me with your edugeek username in hand to get the ball rolling
DalekSec Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 It even wipes the floor with my 8th gen i5! 1
PotNoodleTech Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 This would be a nice upgrade for my old Z800 but wrong time of year as no moneys till April! 1
FishCustard Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 I've gotta get one of these. It'll free up my Optiplex 3050 to go elsewhere too, so the actual cost isn't that much above a regular PC. Hell, we paid only very slightly less per-unit for those 3050s... 1
Mkjarred Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 ☹️ Just ordered one of the HP Z420. Wish I’d waited now! 1
ICTDirect_Dave Posted February 11, 2019 Author Posted February 11, 2019 This would be a nice upgrade for my old Z800 but wrong time of year as no moneys till April! Take it out of your disaster budget I'm happy to do a quote for one now and ship it come April, but I'm almost certain we'll have sold out before then I've gotta get one of these. It'll free up my Optiplex 3050 to go elsewhere too, so the actual cost isn't that much above a regular PC. Hell, we paid only very slightly less per-unit for those 3050s... Drop me an email then
ICTDirect_Dave Posted February 11, 2019 Author Posted February 11, 2019 ☹️ Just ordered one of the HP Z420. Wish I’d waited now! You've still got a VERY attractive machine there!

ICTDirect_Dave Posted February 11, 2019 Author Posted February 11, 2019 Brah you need at least a Titan V for that workload C'mon, SLI Quadro P6000... Nothing less! 2

PotNoodleTech Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 Take it out of your disaster budget Say what now?? 1
ICTDirect_Dave Posted February 11, 2019 Author Posted February 11, 2019 Say what now?? I would argue that your lack of a sufficiently powerful machine on which to test all aspects of IT provision in the school is a disaster waiting to happen. That is unless, you don't have a disaster fund stashed away? I might've been getting ahead of myself there! 2

ADMaster Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 I think I have servers in the rack with less specs then that. That is a steal, get one for home and one for work. 2

No non disaster funds either. 1
FN-GM Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 Nice machine! I would have one for myself if I didn't have space constraints. 1
Arthur Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 @ICTDirect_Dave. Do you have any refurb HP Z2 Mini Workstations (or is it too soon for those)? 1
ICTDirect_Dave Posted February 12, 2019 Author Posted February 12, 2019 Nice machine! I would have one for myself if I didn't have space constraints. Just put it on your knee! It'll keep you warm and provide a workout all at the same time @ICTDirect_Dave. Do you have any refurb HP Z2 Mini Workstations (or is it too soon for those)? Wayy too soon for those Minis I suspect. Plus when they do land they'll be pretty expensive for the first six months. 1
bald_pig Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 I think I have servers in the rack with less specs then that. That is a steal, get one for home and one for work. My servers are RM... 1

ICTDirect_Dave Posted February 21, 2019 Author Posted February 21, 2019 *Quick Bump* Just a reminder that this deal only runs for another week. Get in touch if you'd like to take advantage, we still have a few of these left. Also, I took a day off last week, so it's possible that some of you who PM'd me haven't had a reply. If that's the case, just give me a gentle nudge and i'll get your quote asap
ICTDirect_Dave Posted February 27, 2019 Author Posted February 27, 2019 Final Bump of the month. I've got just 15 of these left now. Prices go up after tomorrow, but if you get a quote then the offer price will be valid for another 30 days - stock permitting.
DavidYoung Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 I wish I could buy one of these for home. (for remote working of course )
