Here's my main desktop machine at home.

 

Hardware is AMD Athlon 64 X2, 1GB RAM, 80GB SATA harddisk, NVidia 7300GS

Running newly-installed Linux Mint 5 BETA 032 - Gnome, Nautilus, Screenlets, KTorrent, Gnome-Do, Rhythmbox, Terminal, Gmail-Notify, Prism, Compiz. GUI font is 'Folks'.

Resolution 1280x1024

Wallpaper GnomeSimplicity

 

I'm usually a KDE person but a change is as good as a rest so they say... :)

My desktop is fairly dull and functional - a few shortcuts to common files and that's it. The background is one of my wedding pictures, so not worth sharing. It does look rather good on my new 22" widescreen (1680x1050) though :D

 

@RichardThomas - how did you get your sidebar to go totally transparent like that?

It's not a sidebar. I'm running RainMeter and Rainlendar. The meter is the battery life and time, and the calendar is very useful for remembering what i'm meant to be doing at each of the schools! The screen on this laptop is very small so thats why I have a theme on my XP to make the bar really quite thin!... I never did get round to doing my home desktop. I'll do that later :p
