Office 365 "This resource can only be scheduled during the working hours"

We use Office 365 to run our e-mails. Though we do have on-site AD any resources are set up in Office 365.

 

In the past couple of weeks we have seen previously reliable resources declining meeting requests reporting:

 

This resource can only be scheduled during the working hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

 

I have used the Get-MailboxRegionalConfiguration command in Powershell to ascertain that, of the five such resources we have, only one had a time zone set. That resource "behaves" but so does another without a time zone set. I used Set-MailboxRegionalConfiguration to set a time zone for one of the mailboxes but this had no effect on being able to book the resource.

 

I'd be interested in knowing if anyone else has seen the start of similar behaviour and, of course, whether anyone has any ideas that can help. Could it be the DateFormat or TimeFormat as shown in Get-MailboxRegionalConfiguration. Why would it be that these, or one of these, entries which are currently blank, would have started to cause problems recently?

 

I have disabled "Allow scheduling only during work hours" within the settings of each resource as a workaround.

Could it be the member of staff has set their Timezone incorrectly? So they are trying to set it at 9AM, which in their timezone would make it 11PM GMT? I know we had a spate of people when we first set up O365 just click OK to the timezone question, setting themselves up as Western something or other, about 12 hours out. We found a PS line to batch set them, but doesn't fix it for anyone you add after that.

 

Don't know why they don't let you set a default timezone!

I will check that but I think it's affecting more than one user and is affecting users recently who have been able to make appointments without problems before a couple of weeks ago. Thanks, though. :-)
