Payroll software

Hi there,

 

We’re at the point of working on the logistics of moving WCBS PASS and moving over to ISAMS iFinance package.

 

All looks good but we will have to use a different payroll solution as we will be ditching PASS / PTX and iFinance doesn’t do payroll.

 

Can you please let me know what payroll solutions you’re using and give me a little feedback if you can?

We used Sage for both accounts and payroll at my independent prep. Support from Sage was very good. Our MIS was Schoolbase

We use iTrent which is a complete HR/Payroll solution and its not cheap :-/

Not used it but Ciphr link with iSAMS, we have a had a quick look to help out but the Chief Accountant got scared and blocked all further investigations. The other one we looked at was Civica (then Carval) and we have been recommended Cintra but not actually looked at it yet.

We use STAR payroll. Uses Access .mdx files for storage of data which seems a bit quaint, but seems to work just fine. We did use double first for a while, bit discovered it wasn't capable of doing some things that were necessary for our payroll (but I don't know what the issues were).

I would recommend Sage but this might be of use to you. Many now communicate with HMRC which they never used to so might be worth looking at rather than a manual process.

We moved to Sage Payroll a couple of years ago.

 

No issues with it from my point of view.

We used Earnie for a while alongside FMS but then outsourced our payroll entirely when our accounts staff changed.
