Hello,

I've been out of the loop for over ten years since my last IT job in Education.

I've been asked to install a patch that was sent by Capita outside of the normal patches that are deployed through Solus.

I'm trying to remember if you use dbAttach to do this or dbUpgrade.

I've just noticed we are not on the Autumn version of Sims, my old brain cells remember there was a way to log everyone off, was that using SQL and not within Sims?

I have registered with Capita to see if I can view the Knowledge Articles but a lot of them seem several years old so any help is gratefully received.

Thank You

You can force/disconnect with SQL Server Management Studio (user may loose work if not saved), right click SIMS database, properties. Click on options, down the page under state Multi user change to single user.

You can deploy an "out of band" patch using SOLUS without the need to do it manually - On the Update library screen on the SOLUS console there is an import update link to import the patch file into the system - you can then schedule it and leave SOLUS to do the nitty gritty.

That import is to import an authorised SOLUS3 patch or upgrade file that you had to download manually, it can't import a regular Patch that has not come from SOLUS3 as it needs to be in a .pkg format

Don't forget to change it back when you've finished

Very useful to know, mine is a zipped format, does that mean its the old dbAttach / dbUpgrade method?
