Hi

We deploy printers via Group Policy

I've never had an issue with drivers, however, at another site we've just got, I've been trying to deploy the printers.

They don't deploy on logon, and if you try to add them manually it asks for an admin password to install the driver. (See below)

I've set the policy to Devices: Prevent users from installing printer drivers Disabled

The drivers are installed on the printer on the server

If anyone could help that would be great

Thanks

Ah ok I'll try the users one as well. Just noticed that the policy is for XP/7 but the clients are 10

One other thing to look at, is the device security permission. Make sure that all user have at least Print Allowed under the Security Tab in Print Management.

Change the GPO to not show security warnings where you also set point and print restrictions.

We had a problem like this at my school. When any new printer was added to the print server and deployed to an ou. The computers in that ou would not get the printer installed. In the end we found out the issue was being caused by a microsoft security patch (KB3170455). So I would suggest if you have a test machine, see if this patch is installed on it. If so uninstall the patch on the test machine, and put it in a ou your trying to deploy a printer to.
